"Sköna maj välkommen" ,"Lovely May welcome" Johan Ludwig Runeberg In May, Sweden dresses up like to go to a ball. After hiding inside the long dark winter, we all come crawling out from our coverts ready to enjoy the light and the fresh air. It is truly a long wait, but how nature repays us!! Millions of nuances of green, flowers in all colors and birds competing in their yearly singing competition. Warmer days and evenings makes it possible to have fika outside. Stumpastaken can spread it´s light both indoors and outdoors and the garden starts to give us flowers for our vases! Picking flowers and making nice arrangements is one of lifes great but little joys. We always have fresh flowers on the table during the blooming season and I use whatever I can find. Sometimes garden flowers and somtimes just anything from the ditch. Life is too short not to enjoy natures wonders! Have a lovely May everyone! If you like, check out our webshop below. We have so many ideas for smart and beautiful design items. Perfect for all the summer parties ahead. Love, Veronica-Born in Sweden

Live and work but do not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it. Eileen Caddy We do work a lot. But our work is intergrated with SO much fun and we truly feel fortunate to live, love and work the way we do. Just now we are back from the Top Drawer fair in London and even though we are completely tired after long days and full concentration, we are tired with a smile. The people we meet… It´s such a pleasure to meet the customers and fellow exhibitors become friends for life. If you look for happiness right where you are, you don´t have to search for it... It is right there! ![]() Klicka här när du vill redigera. Now we will enjoy our beautiful surroundings at the west coast for a couple of weeks before we head off to the next fair.
“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.” Paulo Coelho Advent is coming up and stores are blasting out Christmas music and internet is overflowing with decoration must-do´s. Take a moment to think about what is really necessary. Some pine branches, moss and apples goes a long away. And of course… CANDLES! Invest in what really counts.... Family, friends and spending time together. Trying to let go of the pressure from all around and make space for hugs and laughs. The forest will supply you with most, for the decoration and if you need a nice candleholder, check our website below. Enjoy this time leading up to Christmas! Candlelight to you all! A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Colin Powell From an idea on the sketchboard, to the finished product, is a long and sometimes bumby journey. A vision, the mind set on a goal that sometimes takes way longer than anticipated to achieve. Above is our newest item, HEX winerack, that not only stores bottles, but embraces them in design. A sculpture for wine if we may say so. It took us a while to find the right producer, the right finish and the right feeling in the material. We also wanted to introduce this product that we are so very proud of in the best possible way, and therefore we hooked up with a group of incredebly talented and ambitious young guys, who got free hands to create a mini-movie with HEX in the leading role. Roll out the red carpet for HEX: (30 sek) We were very fortunate to visit STUDIO GOTLEY in the amazing old factory in the Netherlands where they work. It felt like this definetely were the surroundings to be creative with HEX and we believe we were right! THANK`S TO: Matz Borgström - designer of HEX Studio Gotley -moviemakers The Dream- For constantly living the work and work in creativity.

We have been eating and eating and eating the most amazing food at local restaurants getting fantastic help to order from someone speaking English. I am so grateful. I love my job, and it is fantastic to work with my husband. | We produce as much as we can in Sweden and Europe, but we also have valuable long term relations with factories in Asia. Kim has been travelling there longer than he wants to admit, but for me it is still quite new and fascinating. I find China so interesting and double sided. One the one hand, it is extremely technically advanced, far ahead of Sweden, and on the other hand people are using home built vehicles with lawn mower engines as transportation. One restaurant has a heated, self cleaning toilet seat, and another has something indescribably cracked and filthy hole in the floor. The huge contrasts makes it so interesting. And the food! The food... |
We are fortunate to experience people, places and tastes we would never had at home. Here some mixed photos from China.

Some ideas I just wish were my own. I really wish I had come up with this fantastic idea to pimp our Stumpastake, but these photos comes from Nina Holst at Stylizimo blog. Link further down.
This really shows, that Stumpastaken is so much more than a candleholder... Fire away and be creative!

Just looking out the window, seing the amazingly beautiful Swedish nature, the clean water and the fresh air, one understands that Mother Earth is the most precious gift of all. We try to consider the environment in all our decisions and product developments. This is one of the reasons we are extra proud of Stumpastaken. It is made in Sweden out of 100 % recycled aluminum, and this way all kinds of aluminum waste is transformed into a design item.
The cork bowl is made of recycled cork, of course in the leading country of cork production- Portugal.
We are very happy to have these items in our range, both because of their looks and because of their story.
