"He who owns a garden and a book collection lacks nothing"
Since my ordinary job mostly consist on sitting in front of the computer, gardening is the perfect hobby! I get to work with my hands, get dirty all over, get a nice workout and lovely flowers in reward!
For the soul, it is also the perfect treatment… Any anger, frustration or other issues just flies away while being in the garden. The best therapy, haha.
This year we are gearing up a bit, trying to grow some vegetables and besides that try to take car of as much of natures resources as possible. So far we harvested a lot of leech and made syrup from wild pansies and lemon balm.
(Ps, our Beautiful bird bath is available in the webshop, click the button below for more info.)
Lemon balm also makes a really tasty tea, perfect for bedtime! Just pour hot water over the leaves and let it soak for about 10 minutes, add some more water and enjoy!
Have a good week everyone!
"Sköna maj välkommen" ,"Lovely May welcome"

In May, Sweden dresses up like to go to a ball. After hiding inside the long dark winter, we all come crawling out from our coverts ready to enjoy the light and the fresh air. It is truly a long wait, but how nature repays us!! Millions of nuances of green, flowers in all colors and birds competing in their yearly singing competition.
Warmer days and evenings makes it possible to have fika outside. Stumpastaken can spread it´s light both indoors and outdoors and the garden starts to give us flowers for our vases!
Picking flowers and making nice arrangements is one of lifes great but little joys. We always have fresh flowers on the table during the blooming season and I use whatever I can find. Sometimes garden flowers and somtimes just anything from the ditch.
Life is too short not to enjoy natures wonders!
Have a lovely May everyone!

I absolutely love our bathroom and I love the bathtub! When we built our new bathroom my number one wish was a bathtub and it is the best place to wind down.
Our house is out on the very end of the Swedish westcoast and the garden is mostly stone and rocks. In order to build as close to nature as possible, this end of the house lies very close to the surrounding
rock, which means the wall has a 20 degree slant. That´s how we got the shelf over the bathtub.
The bedroom and bathroom lies in a separate part of the house. Kids can be wild and crazy in the livingroom but in this part it is stillness anyway. Very much appreciated and my best tip, to create a place in the house where you can sneak off for some quietness if needed.
Have a good weekend!!!
(Easter is in the webshop.)
Strange but yummy Swedish tradition - Semla.
Today, is the Semlas own day!
Traditionally it´s the last day before lent, where you were supposed to stuff yourself to prepare for the 40 days of fast before Easter.
Nowadays we don´t fast that much, but we eat the Semlas anyway!
The best Semlas in the world are made by my friend Kristina.(Below under a fig tree). Home grinded and cooked almond filling, perfectly whipped cream and buns just big enough to make the perfect fika!
So, now… Time for coffee and a Semla!
If you are in Sweden in the beginning of the year… try one out!
It is truly a Swedish fika!
Unfortunately we can´t sell Kristinas yummy Semlas in the webshop, but we have lots of other nice things. Have a look below!
If you're not buying recycled products, you're not really recycling.

We are truly proud of our product "Stumpastaken". A decoration piece made of 100% recycled aluminum. Stumpastaken is a candleholder that allows you to burn your left over candle stumps all the way down, instead of throwing them away.
There are cute little vases available as extras, that makes it the perfect decoration piece. Candleholder, vase, tabledecoration… You can also add a grid and use it as a warmkeeper for tea or food.
Recycling. Decorating. Modern living. A responsible design piece.
The cork bowls available to Stumpastaken are also recycled. Made of leftovers from the wine cork industry, and old wine and champagne corks. This way we reuse and maximize natures resources, creating beautiful design items you can own and give away with a good conscience.
Rest when you're weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.

We all need to load the batteries in between times of much work. The best way to recollect energy is probably different for everyone, but I strongly believe in nature and fresh air.
Like the day from the photos above.
We had a short break and spent the weekend in Mellbystrand where Kims mom lives. In summer Sweden´s longest beach is full of people sunbathing and playing, but wintertime it is endless peace and quiet with the soft breeze from the ocean.
After walking until our minds were calm and our legs were tired, we turned around, now the wind on the other side of our cheeks.
Then we headed home where we were served danish pancaces and coffee.
An exceptional mini break from all computer buzz and warehouse stress.
Refreshed and rejuvenated we could then go back to work, filled with energy.
Don´t forget to rest. Rest is not lazieness, it is crucial for our long term well being.
Live and work but do not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it.
We do work a lot.
But our work is intergrated with SO much fun and we truly feel fortunate to live, love and work the way we do.
Just now we are back from the Top Drawer fair in London and even though we are completely tired after long days and full concentration, we are tired with a smile.
The people we meet…
It´s such a pleasure to meet the customers and fellow exhibitors become friends for life.
If you look for happiness right where you are, you don´t have to search for it... It is right there!

Now we will enjoy our beautiful surroundings at the west coast for a couple of weeks before we head off to the next fair.
And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been.

Cold, dark and tiresome.
A new year. fresh like the first page of a book just waiting to be written.
New memories to make, new experiences not yet known of, so many days to fill.
Let´s do our very best to make this a year of:
… AND dance, bubbles, sunshine, rain, walks, swims, nature, responsibility, singing, heaven, flowers and more love!
ARE YOU IN?
We are heading for our first fair for the year, TOP DRAWER in London. We are so excited to meet the British customers and start introducing ourselves to the British market.
As tradition says, December 13:th Swedes listen to Lucia and her friends singing the darkness away, spreading light to shine the way to Christmas.

The celebration of Lucia on December 13, is probably one of the most Swedish of traditions. There are special songs for this day and every school and kindergarden has their own Lucia celebration.
Originally Lucia was a Saint from Syracuse, and how she became a Swedish tradition is a long story.
December 13th was told to be the darkest night of the year, and in the old believes people were afraid of all kinds of evil that might be sneaking around the house on a night like that. So they would stay up all night if possible, eat and drink, light candles and try to withhold the darkness. Then came Christianity and the old traditions had to be modified to suit the new believes. So we imported a Saint from Italy, who got to bear the tradition on her shoulders. Lucia has a crown of candles in her hair, and her maidens carries one candle each. Lucia often comes with a tray of coffee, gingerbread cookies and saffron buns. And most of all, she comes with the light and the knowledge that Christmas eve is eleven nights away.
Nowadays, Lucia comes with an entourage of maidens, Staffans (boys with cone hats with golden stars), ginger bread men (!), and a couple of Santas. Just writing this in English makes me realize how difficult this tradition is to describe in words. I guess you just have to come to Sweden for december 13 to experience the whole thing. It is a beautiful and a bit magic tradition and nothing beats a Lucia entourage at the kindergarden with a bunch of Lucias with plastic crowns all singing a bit out of tune.
We wish you a very happy Lucia, wherever you are!
“My idea of Christmas, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”
I just LOVE this quote, it is so easy to get carried away with all the holiday preparations and forget that what really matters is our loved ones. What would Christmas be, if we would not have anyone to give presents to, nobody to share our meals with and noone to wish a happy Christmas?
There are so many lonely people out there, that don´t look forward to the holidays at all. This year we light our candles for them.
And I will hug my loved ones an extra time, being gratful for the greatest gift:
Friends and family!
